Episode 9 Part 1
Masked Mystery Boy?

When we last left our friends they were all at Serena and Dariens apartment waiting for Darien to call them and tell them what is going on. The last thing we saw last episode was Cassie hugging Lita and calling her momma. We now continue the story.
Note to Readers - Remember as you read this that Rini is now almost 14.
Scene: Serena and Dariens Apartment
Cassie: Momma! Im so glad I found you.
Lita: What are you talking about?
Skippy: Perhaps I had better explain.
Skippy clears his throat and then begins to speak.
Skippy: First things first I think its Rini, Amanda, and Cassies bedtime.
Amy: Youre right it is. Come on girls.
Cassie starts to cry.
Cassie: Why doesnt momma remember me?
All three followed by Amy go into Rinis room and get into bed and go to sleep.
Mina: Go ahead.
Skippy: As you already know maim, I am Cassies guardian and am sworn to protect her. There may be some things that you will have to figure out yourself about Cassies origin, but I can at least tell you her mission.
Lita: Well go ahead.
Skippy: As you may recall Cassie had no memory of where she came from or why she was here up until now. That was an accident that happened when she first arrived here from the future.
Raye: So Cassie is from the future just like Rini.
Skippy: Yes, but she is from a future a little bit further than Rini. Cassie was sent here by her father when her mother was captured by the enemy.
Lita: Who is her mother?
Skippy: Why you are of course.
All: What?
Lita: How could I be her mother?
Skippy: As I explained you are her mother in the future.
Lita: So who is her father.
Skippy: Im sorry I cant tell you that. The reason she was sent here is one of the things that I can tell you.
Amy: Could it have anything to do with Droido attacking in the park?
Skippy: On the ball as usual Amy. Droido was under the command of Birtie.
Raye: Whos Birtie?
Skippy: She is an evil woman of the Negaverse. Her leader calls himself King Sabor.
Mina: Why is he called King Sabor?
Skippy: He claims to be King of the Earth. Now, please let me explain why Cassie is here. Cassie is here to learn to use the power that is within her. As you have seen there is great power within her. She was sent back here to be taught how to harness her power and use it to help defeat the new threat from the Negaverse.
Amy: Do you know if there could be more Chibi Scouts or that the guy who calls himself Chibi Tuxedo Mask could be one of them?
Skippy: I have no idea.
Mina: Anyway. Has anybody seen Luna, Artemis, or Diana today?
Raye: Theyre in Serena and Dariens room.
Mina: Why are they in there?
Raye: Diana is starting to talk and there trying to get her to say sentences.
Jay: Hi everyone.
Lita: Hi. Where did you come from?
Jay: I was in Amandas bookbag and she completely forgot about me so I had to get out myself and I tried to get one of you to hear me, but the bookbag was shut up tight. It took me a while to get out. Did I hear you right that Diana is starting to talk?
Raye: Yep.
Jay: Im going to have them come out here so we can all hear her. Cats of our species first words usually shape their personality as they grow up.
Jay walks into the bedroom and a few minutes later all the cats walk into the living room.
Diana: Small Lady, Small Lady.
Luna: As you can see she is a guardian tried and true.
Artemis: You may think it weird that she is calling out Rinis nickname, but it is not weird at all. If one of our species is to become a guardian the name is imprinted in their mind before they are born.
Lita: So what youre saying is that it is her destiny to become Rinis guardian.
Luna: That is exactly what were saying.
Mina: This is going to make Rini so happy.
Raye: It will make Serena happy too.
Amy: Speaking of Serena. I hope shes okay.
Lita: Shouldnt Darien have called us by now?
Mina: I hope Serenas okay.
They all start to really worry. After awhile they all fall asleep.
Scene: The next morning at Serena and Dariens Apartment
Everyone is asleep and all of a sudden the phone rings and they all jump.
Amy: Hello.
Darien: Hey Amy. Would you guys come down to the hospital and bring Rini with you?
Amy: Sure.
Darien: Thanks see you soon.
Both: Bye.
They both hang up.
Girls: Well?
Amy: Darien wants us all to go to the hospital.
Mina: Did he say why?
Amy: No, he just said to go there and to bring Rini.
Lita: Ill go wake them up.
Lita goes into Rinis room.
Lita: (thinking) I cant believe I didnt see how much that Cassie looked like me. Now I know why I was so protective of her. Shes my little munchkin and I love her.
Lita walks over to the bed.
Lita: Come on girls get up.
Amanda: Why?
Lita: We have to go to the hospital to see Serena.
Rini: Is my momma okay?
Lita: We dont know yet.
Rini: Come on Cassie, get up we have to go see my momma.
Cassie: Wheres mommy?
Lita: Im right here Cassie.
Cassie: Momma!
Lita: I love you, sweetie.
Cassie: I love you too mommy.
Lita: Come on girls get dressed so we can go see Serena and find out if shes okay.
They all get ready and leave the apartment and are on their way to the hospital.
Scene: The Hospital
The whole gang walks up the reception counter.
Amy: We are looking for Serena Shields.
Clerk: Hold on a moment.
The clerk keys in the name.
Clerk: Shes in the maternity ward on the 4th floor.
Amy: Thank you.
They all get into an elevator and Rini pushes the button for the 4th floor. When they get to the 4th floor they all walk up to the reception desk.
Lita: Excuse me maim.
Clerk: Yes.
Lita: Were looking for Serena Shields.
Clerk: One moment.
The clerk keys in the name and then looks up.
Clerk: Shes in room 405. Thats down the hall, to the right, and its the third door on the left.
Mina: Thank you.
They all follow the nurses directions and they finally get to the room. Rini knocks on the door and they hear a slightly weak voice say
Serena: Come in.
They all walk in and gasp at what they see.
Rini: Mommy!
Rini runs up and hugs Serena.
Serena: Hello sweetie.
Rini: I missed you, mommy.
Serena: I missed you too Rini.
Darien: So did I Rini.
Rini: Daddy!
Rini starts to run to hug Darien and then she hears
Serena: Rini, dont!
Rini: Why?
Darien: Take a look.
Rini looks at Darien and then she realizes that hes holding something in his arms.
Rini: Whats that?
Darien: Hold on a moment and youll find out.
Darien hands the bundle in his arms to Serena and then he gives Rini a big hug. He picks her up and holds her up so she can see whats in the bundle on blankets.
Rini: I still dont see anything.
Serena: You will.
Serena pulls the blanket away to reveal a baby with a head of pink hair.
Rini: Wow!
Girls: Aww! How cute!
Serena: Rini, meet well yourself.
Rini: Thats me?
Darien: Yep.
Rini: Can I hold her?
Darien looks at Serena and Serena nods. Darien puts Rini down and then Serena hands Rini the baby.
Rini: Wow, Im so light.
Raye: Wait let me get a picture.
Raye pulls a camera out of her purse and takes a picture of Rini holding the baby.
Scene: A couple days later at the Middle School
Amanda: Hey, did you guys hear about the dance thats coming up?
Cassie: A dance for elementary school kids.
Rini: Yeah, but its only for the 6th graders like us who are going to middle school next year.
Cassie: Wow, I hope someone invites me.
Rini: Me too! (thinking) Id love it if Eric asked me, but he probably wouldnt ask.
Amanda: Hello! Earth to Rini. Come in Rini.
Rini: What?
Cassie: You really zoned out on us there.
Rini: Sorry.
Amanda: You were thinking about Eric again werent you?
Rini: That jerk, no way!
The bell rings for lunch and the girls go out to the playground to eat their lunches. The sit down on a bench and start talking and eating their lunches. Little do they know that Eric is about 10ft away looking at Rini from behind a tree.
Eric: (thinking) You can do this Eric. You can ask her to the dance. Shell probably refuse, but at least then youd have tried.
Eric walks out from behind the tree and walks toward Rini.
Eric: Hi Rini.
Rini: Hi Eric. (thinking) He didnt call me rabbit head!
Eric: I was just wondering if you had a date for the dance this Friday.
Rini: No I dont. Why do you ask?
Eric: No specific reason.
He starts to walk away and then he changes his mind and turns back around.
Eric: I also wanted to know if youd like to go with me to the dance. (Thinking) There I got it out.
Rini: I dont know.
Eric: Oh, okay then. Bye.
Eric starts to run off.
Rini: Wait!
Rini runs up to him and slips a note into his hand.
Rini: (Whispering) See you later.
Eric: (thinking) I wonder what she meant by that.
The bell rings for the students to go back to class. The girls go into their classroom, but we dont follow them. We follow Eric into his classroom.
Eric: (thinking) Another boring reading day. I might as well read this note from Rini.
He opens it up and this is what it says.
Dear Eric,
I know I may have been a bit hesitant at lunch, but if youll come over to the park by my apartment building after school I will give you my answer and tell you why I was hesitant.
Sincerely,
Rini (Rabbit head)
Eric starts to blush.
Eric: (thinking) So thats what she meant by see you later.
Scene: Rinis room
Rini: What should I wear?
Rini rummages through her closet.
Rini: This is it!
She holds up a shimmering pink dress with semi thin straps.
Rini: This is perfect!
Rini gets dressed and heads to the park.
Scene: The park
Eric is already there and is sitting on a swing thinking.
Eric: (thinking) I wonder what shes going to say.
All of a sudden he looks up and theres Rini. He stands up and takes a couple steps toward her.
Eric: (thinking) She looks so beautiful.
Rini: (thinking) I hope he likes it.
Neither one talks for a few minutes.
Eric: So you want to go for a walk.
Rini: Sure.
They start to walk.
Rini: I suppose youre wondering why I asked you to come here, right?
Eric: Well, actually yes.
Rini: Lets go sit on that bench and talk.
Eric: Okay.
They go and sit sown on the bench.
Rini: The reason I asked you to come here is that I was kinda embarrassed to say this in front of my friends when you asked me to the dance.
Eric: What did you want to say to me?
Rini: Well, (thinking) Its now or never Rini.
Eric: Go ahead I wont laugh.
Rini: I didnt want to tell you in front of them that I would go with you and you would have been the only one that I would have gone with.
Rini starts to have tears build up in her eyes. Rini looks away from Eric. Eric uses the tips of his fingers and lightly pulls her head towards him again. While doing this he had put his arm around her shoulder.
Eric: (Softly) I felt the same way.
Rini and Eric look deep into each others eyes and then Eric slowly bends his head down while Rini pushes herself up and their lips meet in a tender kiss.
Rini: To answer your question, I will go to the dance with you.
Eric: You just made me the happiest guy in the 6th grade.
They both laugh and Eric walks Rini home.
